Students are thriving learning French at One Tree Hill College. Both senior and junior students have recently competed in the Auckland French Speech Competitions with a great deal of success.
Year 12 student, Natassja Sheppard-Larsen won the hors-concours oral Auckland Competition. This is the supreme award for students taking French in the Auckland Region. What makes this achievement more remarkable is that Natassja is only Year 12 and usually this award would be won by a Year 13 student.
Year 12 student, Rebecca Graham was also outstanding, being placed sixth in Auckland. Her recent student exchange in France certainly paid dividends.
Year 9 students in the competition were also outstanding, with Caleb Rawiri being placed second overall. All students did an excellent job and received a special commendation from the judge who was the National French advisor. Simply stunning achievements, and much credit goes to their amazing teacher Mrs Sarah Mitchell.
