Speak up, Stand up, Stop Bullying!

|| June 25, 2019

Every year One Tree Hill College students and staff members stand together as a united front to convey messages of positivity, kindness, and unity through the school in honour of celebrating Pink Shirt Day. This day is truly unique and important as it revolves around the idea of battling all forms of bullying and promoting general love and support to individuals in the school and NZ as a whole. Importantly, staff members sported their bright pink shirts to cooperate in the movement and stand up to bullying, promoting a safe school environment in and out of the classroom. This presented team members of the Peer Sexuality Support Team (PSSP) were the main team of organisers who yearly, organise a mini support day during lunch time in the commons to raise awareness and spread kindness to all students participating in the day. Furthermore, this creates and builds on OTHC’s ever growing support system for people of all races, genders, and ages by making us all connect as ONE rather than multiples. Social change and the creation of a safe environment is spread through Pink Shirt Day through our school community, promoting positive social relationships. Huge thanks to the PSSP Team for organizing the Pink Shirt Day and all staff and students who participated/supported the movement.
