Supporting Starship and City Mission

Following Tawa's mufti day last term, Hīnau Whānau hosted Term 2's mufti day in June. Hīnau students enthusiastically partook in this occasion by bringing in baked goods and volunteering to market delicious sausages and pancakes to the college’s students and teachers. Food aside, photo booths and gaming rooms were installed inside the whānau commons along with One Tree Hill College's very own performing band, which attracted a rather impressive crowd. As the day came to an end, it was found that Hīnau had raised an astounding $2,469.40 towards Starship Children's Hospital, and 9kg worth of canned food for the Auckland City Mission. Hīnau Whanau leader, Miss Whittle commented on the day. "The day has been fantastically exciting, thanks to everybody's support!" Overall, Term 2's mufti day has turned out impressively successful with all raised funds donated to very worthwhile charitable organisations.
