OTHC Mother-Daughter Breakfast 2019

|| May 17, 2019

On Friday 10th May, we held our inaugural Mother-Daughter breakfast. It was a wonderful morning and all those in attendance left with many new ideas and inspirational thoughts from guest speakers, Nicola Gaze from the Parenting Place, and Denise Lee, MP for Maungakiekie. Following the success of this event, we will be holding a Father-Son breakfast in September.

We see superheroes at work everyday. However no other superhero is more taken for granted then a mother. Prior to us being born she carried us for 9 grueling months. Which then became 18 years or more where she would carry us through our 13 years of schooling. While we slacked off and had our off days our mothers juggled their job and picked up after our dirty laundry and half-done chores. Needless to say mothers do a lot of work for us which goes without appreciation. So this Friday morning we held our first mother daughter breakfast to give a bit of recognition to our mothers. The mother daughter breakfast started off bright and early at 7am with a combined 150 mothers and daughters attending. They were pleasantly greeted with a range of breakfast options available. Not only this we had Denise Lee as well as other guest speakers who graced us at the mother daughter breakfast. Mothers and daughters had time to relax and interact which for many, was not done often enough.
