Polyfest 2019

|| April 5, 2019

The annual four day long 2019 ASB Polyfest took place recently at the Manukau Sports Bowl. This annual event, in which One Tree Hill College proud participates, celebrates the diversity, and rich cultures, across schools in the Auckland area. This festival is huge Auckland event, and as such performances need to be held on a number of different stages relative to the variety of cultures - Maori Kapa Haka, Samoan, Tongan, Niue, Cook Island, and Diversity. OTHC had a total of six cultural groups - Hawaiian, Spanish, Korean, Cook Island, Samoan, and Filipino - performing and they all showed extreme dedication and commitment leading up to the big day spending many hours practicing. On the day their well-choreographed performances were all thanks to the extensive support and long hours given to them by their group’s mentors and teachers who had given up so much of their personal time to teach and master the groups. It's safe to say that the groups successfully represented their cultures with such high respect and pride, creating a sense of community and belonging to the OTHC community.

Well done One Tree Hill and especially the 200 plus students on your involvement and achievements.
