Representing Paraguay

|| September 20, 2019

The United Nations is a widely recognised organisation which focuses on working to solve worldwide issues regarding human rights so international peace and security is maintained. For students looking to be a future UN delegate, a great opportunity was available for them to see what it would be like, by attending the Model United Nations Assembly. MUNA is a Rotary Club initiative and is a simulation of the United Nations Assembly where Interact groups (Junior Rotarians), are encouraged to discuss their political thoughts amongst each other. Our OTHC students had to enter the discussions representing Paraguay.

Matthew Hookings, says of his experience. “Before MUNA I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. However, by the end of the sessions, I realised that I had had a stimulating and enjoyable experience.” The students would like to thank the Rotarians, Mr Barwood and Ms Bodman for supporting them and providing this opportunity to practice and extend their public speaking and debating skills.
