Academic Excellence Awards 2021
June 11, 2021
One Tree Hill College students got to celebrate their excellent performance in last year’s NCEA assessments. Peers, teachers, and community alike met to applaud them for their hard work and their fantastic achievement of over gaining 46 Excellence or Merit credits to gain an endorsement in their exams over a stressful 2020 year of lockdowns and other interruptions.
During the assembly, OTHC Principal Mr Nick Coughlan emphasized the importance of OTHC’s five school values Excellence, Innovation, Responsibility, Respect and Aspiration and that as we transition to a new year, we should uphold the college’s motto “Strive for Higher Things”. He mentioned another pleasing statistic in that our college’s success in NCEA has been increasing above the national mean of NCEA success rates in other NZ secondary schools year by year. Again, we would like to applaud those who achieved Excellence or Merit endorsements and on behalf of every student in OTHC, we would like to acknowledge the staff, management and teachers who have helped these students excel and obtain their goals.
