COVID-19 INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

|| April 9, 2020

COVID-19 UPDATE: 28 February 2021

We are currently in Alert Level 3.

The Prime Minister has advised that schools in the Auckland area will be closed under Alert Level 3 from Monday 1 March until Friday 5 March 2021 (included) for all students, except those of essential workers in Year 9 and 10.

If you are an essential worker and need to send your child to school for supervision this week, we need to prepare the necessary Health and Safety requirements. Therefore, we need to register the names of students who will be attending school and their mode of getting to/from school. Only students in Years 9 and Year 10 who are children of essential workers, that cannot be supervised at home, are able to be registered. Students registered to attend school on site must attend every day. If they are sick or unable to attend for any reason please let us know in the usual way. Casual attendance is not permitted - only those students who register will be able to attend on site. We require our families to register on the link below:

before 6pm Sunday 28 February only if their child is in Years 9 or Year 10, and is a child of essential workers, and requires supervision. Otherwise no response is required and students stay at home.

Once we receive further information from the Ministry of Education we will communicate details to you via email. In the meantime, all school activities are postponed until further notice. I will be meeting with all staff tomorrow morning to plan the re-commencement of our remote teaching and learning programme.

We are well planned for this possibility. Our approach throughout our covid-19 experiences has been to look after your families and each other. Nothing has changed. We have faced this before, and we will continue to successfully manage our way through to produce good outcomes for our students. We have an amazing student support team, and further information will be communicated tomorrow with details how to contact them remotely for extra support if it is needed.

As always, I appreciate your support as we navigate through this latest lock down. You will receive further communication from me tomorrow. In the meantime, stay safe, and follow the advice from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of covid-19 , please contact Healthline immediately 0800 611 116

Thank you again for your support. Look after your whānau and stay safe.
