OTHC Anzac Memorial Service Performance

|| May 11, 2017

In the Term One holidays, the Boy’s Chorale performed at the Anzac Memorial service in Auckland Museum. They sang a number of songs for the pre-dawn service, including In Flanders Field, a song based on a poem about the First World War. Mr. Grey, co-ordinates the Chorale and says “I could not be more proud of how the boys represented the school, and themselves. They worked hard right through the first week of the holidays in preparation for this very special performance, and while they knew it was a big deal, I think it is fair to say that for many of them, the magnitude of what we were taking part in didn’t really hit home until we arrived on the museum grounds that morning.” Many thanks to the Senior Leadership Team for their support of this endeavour, Mr. Maskell and the entire music department for their continued hard work with our music students, and the boys themselves for what will be remembered as a very special and successful public performance by all involved.
