Paul Harris Award- Mr Langdon

|| October 20, 2022

Recently OTHC teacher Mr Langdon was the recipient of the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award at a ceremony held in Auckland. The Paul Harris Fellow Award is a Rotary International award (created in memory of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary) to recognise an individual’s contributions to the Foundation's charitable and educational program. Mr Langdon has run the REP Programme at OTHC for some years now and he was “really honoured to receive this honour”. The Rotary Enrichment Programme (REP) is a literacy programme run at OTHC. It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Penrose and over the years it has a proven to be a successful way of improving the literacy skills of our students here at OTHC. It has also received recognition from other schools as REP is now taken in seven other secondary schools around Auckland. “I couldn’t believe that I was nominated for this award as, as well as being an international award, it is usually only given to Rotarians”, said Mr Langdon. “REP has been a wonderful way of improving our students’ literacy skills and I thank the Rotary Club of Penrose for their backing. I also thank my wife (who helped design the programme) and the leadership and teachers of OTHC for supporting it.”

Congratulations Mr Langdon on receiving the recognition for your hard work.
