Year 10 Freedom Day 2017

|| September 19, 2017

On Friday 15th September all year 10 students participated in the annual Freedom Day challenge run by Amnesty International. The aim of Freedom Day this year was to stand up for the workers whose labour rights are being violated on Indonesian palm oil plantations. A lot of palm oil is produced through a system of abuse that includes child labour, forced labour, discrimination against women and exposure to toxic chemicals. All year 10 students did an excellent job at raising awareness on this issue and had the opportunity to be creative and take part in making a difference.

A huge thank you to Ms Wharepapa and the Social Sciences department for putting this day together.
