Annual Model United Nations Assembly 2026

A personally selected group of Year 12 students journeyed to Rosmini College to represent the countries of Botswana and the Netherlands at the Rotary International Annual Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) convention. This event is a day when students from Auckland to Northland gather to discuss global politics and international relationships.  MUNA is a special opportunity for students nationwide to learn about politics and the constant global issues that plague the world whilst promoting collaboration between peers. It also starts debates to find solutions for the best outcomes for their assigned countries; all to foster unity, perseverance, and empathy.  “Beyond the excitement of debates, MUNA was a profound learning experience that completely reshaped my understanding of how multilateral diplomacy works to protect human rights and the global commons,” commented Rhianne Escoto, Year 12 who was representing the Kingdom of Netherlands. Staff member Miss Sewter, a member of staff overseeing the trip, exhibited her unrestrained excitement for the prospects of next year’s MUNA trip, “I am definitely excited for next year’s conference and the growing engagement of our students in global issues!” Suffice to say, both staff and students alike are counting the days until next year’s annual MUNA conference.
