Pink Shirt Day 2026

OTHC celebrated Pink Shirt Day, an important event that promotes standing up against bullying and encouraging kindness.  At OTHC, we work alongside our Kāhui Ako schools to spread anti-bullying messages and help create a positive and supportive community for everyone. To promote this message, a committee organised a variety of activities for students to participate in. These included making friendship bracelets, making a ‘Give a Compliment/Take a Compliment’ bucket, chalk drawing positive messages around the school, and a ‘Design Your Own Pink Shirt’ competition. These activities encouraged students to spread positivity, kindness, and support among each another. OTHC also carried out fundraising for the charity Voices of Hope. This organisation does important work supporting young people’s mental health in Aotearoa.  Money raised for this group came from a cake sale, donations from the friendship bracelet making activity, and staff also took part in the fun with a ‘Guess the Lollies in the Jar’ competition. Over $700 was raised for Voices of Hope, which was an amazing achievement and showed the generosity and support of our school community. A special thank you goes to Miss Scott for organising Pink Shirt Day and all of the activities. Her hard work and effort helped make the event successful and brought the school community together to support an important cause.
