OTHC Week 4 in Review

With Term 1 now well underway students have been getting active on trips and with sports, week 4 has been incredibly busy. Highlights are as below:

Premier Netball squad:

Our netball stars have been hard at work this year, with the trials for our two Premier teams taking place during week 3.

At the Premier team meeting, the girls enjoyed a surprise visit from the New Zealand Silver Ferns team member Maria Tutaia, who popped in to share words of wisdom and encouragement for our upcoming season.

As told by Miss Ryan, Director of Netball- The girls that were selected for our premier teams are very enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to our goal of qualifying for NZ champs this year.

The following students were selected:

Social Sciences Waitakere Trip

The Year 11 Social Studies and Year 11 Geography classes enjoyed Tuesday 21st of February in West Auckland, where they studied how Sustainability in the Waitakere Ranges. The students thoroughly enjoyed spending time in nature and will be applying what they learned from their experience in upcoming assessments.


Go for Gold – NZ Rugby Trials

New Zealand Rugby [NZR] is scouring the country in a bid to discover more talent for it's Women's Sevens programme. The trials were held at One Tree Hill College, with young athletes from any sporting code including netball, football, touch rugby and age group athletics champs as they looks to turn last year's Olympic Silver into Tokyo Gold as a part of the Go For Gold program.

The One Tree Hill College students that trialed were:
