The Gardening Club

|| August 22, 2024

OTHC has started a new club - The Gardening and Sustainability Club. The club was formed for gardening enthusiasts among the student body. The aim of the club is to teach students to be not only self-sufficient, but also, to oversee and maintain the numerous school gardens that abound around the school. Ms Lee and Mr Bettridge are the staff responsible for overseeing the group and teach them about sustainable living, growing plants, and applying this information to their daily lives. The gardening club plants new seeds to harvest and gains the knowledge to live an environmentally friendly lifestyle. “They share with us plenty of knowledge about plants and the seasons. This group helps benefit the school by providing fresh plants and herbs used for Food Technology students,” said one of the gardening club members. Students like interacting with other open-minded individuals, learning about the environment and the weather, and putting in a lot of effort planting and harvesting, new crops. The school appreciates how beautiful our gardens look.
