Hato Hone St John 2025
June 12, 2025
Miro Whānau held a mufti-day to raise money for Hato Hone St John. This is a volunteer ambulance service organisation which many people in the community depend on. Along with many fund raising events special activities were organised by Miro whānau, these included St John vehicle and ambulance tours, CPR demonstrations, and a bandage-wrapping competition. The day also included a student-led bake sale in the Miro Commons and a raffle for a gift basket. The Miro leaders were pleased to have raised over $1500, which is remarkable. Our student leaders are to be commended for their leadership. Their participation, and that of the teaching faculty and the larger school community, meant that the event was a huge success. St John's involvement on the day brought a meaningful and engaging touch that helped raise donations and student participation. Being the first whānau to host their fundraising this year made Miro proud, and they are eager to see what other whānau will do.
