First Day for Year 9's

|| March 5, 2025

The new Year 9 students at One Tree Hill College officially began their high school journey recently. With everyone being all dressed up in their full school uniforms for the first time, they stepped into their new classrooms, eager to experience what the next five years would hold for them. For the whole day the Year 9s got to look around the school and met subject and class and whānau teachers. They spent the day in their whānau classes with their whānau teachers and fellow students doing fun activities to start their first day. Leading the special day was Deputy Principal Mr Kimi, who shared his thoughts on the students’ successful transition into high school. "It was another great day to welcome our new families to OTHC. The day went very smoothly, and it was awesome to connect with our new Year 9s and their whānau. A special thank you to our student leaders and staff for helping our new students settle into their learning environment." Many Year 9s commented how they felt nervous at the beginning of the day, while others seemed to be less anxious because their friends were there with them.  They described their first day as a wonderful experience and are excited for the journey ahead at One Tree Hill College. By the end of the day, they got to experience what it’s like being part of One Tree Hill College.
