OTHC New Staff 2023

|| August 23, 2023

This year we are again fortunate to have been able to employ more top teachers to OTHC. With the ever-increasing status of the college among the education fraternity, the rise in roll numbers is quite spectacular. This of cause has necessitated the need for more staff members. Luckily enough OTHC has managed to recruit wisely and have been able to add a number of exceptional teachers to our fraternity. New staff or staff who have gained permanent positions this year are Ms Cobden-Grainge (Commerce), Mrs Ellitts, Mrs Singh, Miss Ngaluafe (Science), Ms Le (Lab Tech), Mr Li (Mathematics), Mrs Jeffrey (Careers and Pathways Coord), Mr J Coughlan (Sport’s Coordinator), Mrs Veninga (Receptionist), Mr Williams (Hard Materials Tech), Mr Ram, Mrs Cornes, and Miss Hindley (English), Mrs Cleave (Social Sciences), Mr Tighe (Technology), and Miss Scott who returns to the Social Science faculty after gaining a permanent position.

Ms Cobden-Grainge has been enjoying the experience of teaching at OTHC and says that she felt very welcomed and really supported by students and staff here. “There are lots of students at the school and whenever I get lost every student, I have asked so far, is so willing to help and guide me to where I want to go,” she added. Ms Cobden-Grainge thinks she was destined to become a teacher because she comes from a family of teachers. She chose to teach Commerce and Business Studies because when she was in school, she enjoyed accounting, counting profit, loss, and numbers. Miss Scott, who came to this school last year as a TES, felt excited to join One Tree Hill College this year after gaining a permanent position. She had found a passion for teaching (after pursuing different career avenues) and remembers being impressed by how Mr Coughlan welcomed her to the school and promised her that OTHC was ‘one big happy family’; since being here she has realised that what he said was true. “I have told many people who went to university with me how connected and welcomed I feel at this school. I look forward to coming to school every day and talking with my students and colleagues,” she says enthusiastically. Miss Scott would like to go higher in the teaching profession and one day become a principal as she loves working with young people.”  Welcome to you all we do hope you enjoy the experience and stay with us a long time.
